invited layouts 2018
The Lincolnshire and District's 3rd Annual Exhibition was this year held at the Newark Showground in the recently re-furbished "Lady Eastwood Pavillion" which was a change of venue for 2017 and onwards.
We had a positive response from visitors, traders and layout exhibitors regarding the improved facilities at Newark. With wide
aisles between layouts, brighter atmosphere in the building, better toilet and cafe facilities and again the inclusion of the free complimentary show guide as part of the entrance fee.
Over the weekend the following shields were presented and we are pleased to announce that the following layouts were judged as follows:-
"The Worlds End" (00 Gauge) This fantastic layout based on Knaresborough was actually presented with two shields over the weekend. Firstly "The Stuart Roberts Trophy" for best modern image layout as chosen by L&DMRC member Chris Fryer and Stuarts family. The second shield to be presented was "The Jack Barker Shield" for best in show as judged by the visiting public.
"Hassell Harbour Bridge" (0 Gauge) Again another fantastic layout which was operated by members of Alsager Railway Association. This layout was presented with the Lincoln Imp Shield for the most prototypical layout.
"Loch Oran" (N Gauge) A fantastic layout loosely based on the junction at Crainlarich on the West Highland line. This layout was presented with "The Colin Smith Memorial Shield" for best in show as judged by L&DMRC members. (Pictured).
