The Lincolnshire and District's 5th Annual Exhibition was again held at the Newark Showgrounds "Lady Eastwood Pavillion" exhibition hall which was our 3rd year at this venue.
Again we had a positive response from visitors, traders and layout exhibitors. As always comments were received about the ease to move around freely in the main hall.
We will be putting a couple of extra road signs along Drove Lane for our next show to clearly mark out the correct entrance as well as along the A46/A1 which we were unable to place this year. This will hopefully assist all visitors entering the showground at the correct entrance should other events be taking place at the same time. (The good news is that the Autojumble does not clash with our next exhibition in October which can cause heavy traffic for a short period on the Sunday).
As always over weekend the following shields were presented and we are pleased to announce that the following layouts were judged as follows:-
"Coppall" (00 Gauge) received the "Stuart Roberts Trophy" for best modern image layout as chosen by L&DMRC member Chris Fryer. (Pictured).
"Bergeller Bahn" - (H0 Gauge) was presented with the Jack Barker Shield for the best in show as chosen by the general public who visited our exhibition over the two days. (Awaiting picture).
"Melton Mowbray North" (N Gauge) was presented with "The Colin Smith Memorial Shield" for best in show as judged by L&DMRC members. (Pictured).
"Titheridge Junction" (N Gauge) awarded the Lincoln Imp Shield for most prototypical layout at the show. (Pictured).
The Lincoln & District Model Railway Club would like to thank all visitors, exhibitors, traders, demonstrators, societies that came to this years February exhibition.
We would also like to thank Sleaford Model Railway Club for there assistance over the two days and all our sponsers.
